company was organized in 1920 as the Amateur Bicycle League of America and
was incorporated in New York in 1921. In 1975, the name was changed to the
United States Cycling Federation. In 1995, a new organization, USA
Cycling, was
incorporated in Colorado, and on July 1, 1995, the two corporations
merged, with USA Cycling being the umbrella corporation. This is the
home of USCF, NORBA, US Pro, and the NCCA.
Established in 1900,
Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the world wide governing body for
competitive cycling. It is the mission of UCI to
develop and promote all
aspects of cycling without discrimination of any kind, in close
cooperation with National Federations and major associates.
